6/22 Rest Day Metz

And rest they did - barely getting them to breakfast before cut off! I did an early morning photo shoot and discovered the chapel of the Templars. Nearby was a Roman temple/bath from 380. Without many people the morning streets were beautiful. Tammy and I collected all the laundry into a large sac and off to the laundry. Finally getting out the door in the remains of the day we stopped for panini before spending the rest of the afternoon at the Musee d'Or. This museum has a nice collection of Prehistoric / Roman / & Renascence era artifacts. Skeletons are displayed to Ethan's delight. I enjoyed the art as well. There was a display of painted wood panels found during remodeling a building. Unlike the usual religious art overload, these planks would have been more of the common paintings seen everyday and that alone makes them fascinating !
No one wanted dinner- except me-so I set out to run errands and picked up a good chicken salad at the Boucherie. The next day was scheduled as a major push!
